Music is alive at Calvary, with lots of opportunities for participation by the congregation.
The Adult Choir - leads the congregational singing with more traditional/classical style music including an anthem, usually on the first and fourth Sundays of the month The Adult Choir help us worship God through music, rejoicing in our wonderful Lord and Savior Jesus as they join together in song to praise His holy name. They normally practice after the Sunday service and take a break through July and August, except for special occasions.
The Children's Choir – is for preschool & elementary children. This first musical experience is a fun way to learn basic musical skills and to praise God. This choir helps children discover the joy of praise and worship through music. Its emphasis is on fun, it continues the development of musical and singing skills, and increasing children’s knowledge of Worship. The group normally sings the second Sunday of the month, the Christmas Play, the Easter Play, Children’s Youth Day in May and other special occasions during the year. They normally practice before the Sunday worship service on the second Sunday of the month.
The Handbell Choir - Our Handbell Choir provides music on the third Sunday of the month and other special occasions. Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evening at 7 pm. They normally break for the summer (June through August).
The Motley Choir - age range 10 and up. This is for those who play instruments or sing in a style that doesn’t fit with the more traditional music; people from all walks of life, children and adults, male and female, not focusing on their differences, but coming together to worship God with more contemporary music. Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm. This group sings on the 5th Sundays during the year, more frequently during the summer months and on other special occasions as arranged by Drew and Joyce.
